First developed for our E30 BMW specific Push-rod Suspension kit, our billet rocker assemblies are now being commonly used as a universal suspension component by many of our customers who have built their own custom push-rod set-ups.
These rockers are geared towards a suspension set-up which utilizes factory geometry and must still retain a certainly level of travel to maintain the vehicles ability to be used for mild street / track applications. With an extremely mild input ratio of 0.85 this design, when coupled with a proper damper can deliver the adjustability and performance of a push-rod suspension, while retaining a comfortable ride on the street.
Construction:Â
The main pivot features two sealed 35mm OD bearings pressed into the rocker housing. An inner race spacer is used between the bearings to support the races axially when the rocker is fastened into position. An internal retaining ring is used as a redundant bearing retainer. The bearing cones are designed to leave minimal gap against the rocker housing to double as a bearing shield.
The Damper and Push-rod connection points utilize stainless bushings which are pressed into the rocker housing. These serve to reduce wear and fastener impact on the aluminum rocker housing if the rockers are removed frequently.
Manufacturing:Â
The rocker housings are machined from solid 6061-T6 and anodized. The bearing spacers and bearing cones are turned from 6061-T6. The bearing cones are anodized. The connection bushings are turned from 304 Stainless Steel. Each unit is hand assembled with custom press tools to ensure the bearings and rocker housings are not exposed to damaging loads during the build process.
Notes:Â
Each set comes complete with two (2x) fully assembled rockers. Hardware is NOT included but can provided as necessary. Clevis’s for mounting the rockers can also be produced as necessary. Please contact us regarding any custom orders.
