Our Billet E30 based Differential Cover is designed and built with no compromises. It is a direct fit for the E30 chassis and will bolt up to any medium case (188mm) BMW differential commonly found in the vintage models. Features include: dual mounting ears, an internal baffle wall and multiple fluid ports.
An internal ring gear baffle which comes as standard on our diff covers aids in keeping differential fluid attached to the ring gear as it travels along the back of the cover. This action allows differential fluid to be more adequately dispersed to the extremities of the differential case aiding in lubrication of the bearings and reducing fluid temps.
With an increased fluid capacity, this cover allows for lower operating temperatures of your differential during racing conditions. This promotes longer life for the clutches, bearings and inserts in your differential.
These covers comes pre-assembled with Delrin diff bushings which utilize an internal steel sleeves to maximize longevity. As standard, various ports can be utilized for custom coolers and sensors. The ports available are as follows:
- 1x -8 ORB Upper Port (diff cooler return)
- 2x -8 Lower Ports (drain port, diff cooler feed port)
- 1x 1/8 NPT Port (temp sensor port)
- 1x -8 ORB Mid Port (fluid fill and level port)
- 1x 1/8 NPT Vent Port (comes standard with brass breather)
Manufacturing:
This cover is machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum, along with all its internal components. Cover can be supplied as raw billet aluminum or anodized.
Notes:
Included with the cover are a set of plates for welding or bolting into the e30 rear cross-member to locate the second diff ear. A complete set of new hardware is included. The cover comes standard with ORB plugs installed into the ports.
